I am honoured to announce my position as CAPIC National Director and Co-President of the Montreal CAPIC Chapter (Canadian Association of Professional Image Creators), alongside with fashion Photographer Genevieve Charbonneau.
After I organized a debate on licensing and copyrights last February at Dawson College in Montreal, I met with fashion photographer Genevieve Charbonneau and we discussed today’s challenges in the professional commercial photography industry. After several meetings with current and past CAPIC directors, members and other photographers as well, Genevieve and I decided to join forces to refresh CAPIC’s mission and start what we like to call CAPIC 2.0 .
Genevieve and I sat down together on many occasions and came up with a plan including different strategies and goals which translates into a vision. We then were elected National Directors on CAPIC’s National Board and Co-Presidents of the Montreal CAPIC chapter.
A lot of work lies ahead of us but Genevieve and I are eager to roll up our sleeves. More information will come as we are putting together the pieces of the puzzle so CAPIC can offer up to date services and serve the commercial photography community with tools for today’s realities. Stay tuned!
